It's been awhile since I felt I had time or a creative buzz to write on any of these blogs, but even though I'm technically busy right now I've been procrastinating all day to actually accomplish any school work. Mainly just been on Facebook all day promoting bands that I've filmed to try and get them more recognition and a bigger fan base, so I'm either the biggest procrastinator or the most dedicated promoter ever.
Which brings me to the point on why I felt the need to write on this blog again after so long. Being on Facebook so often recently promoting local musicians and my own business has been great, people are taking notice, the bands are sharing my videos to show their fans what they can do if they didn't see the show or never heard them before. The downfall to being on facebook all the time is seeing what some people post, not even just facebook but the internet as a whole.
The internet can be used as one of the greatest tools that has ever come out of a simple idea, information at the touch of a button to share knowledge, ideas and to learn anything you desire. The problem that's come from it is constant bitching from individuals around the world, the fact you can remain nameless and faceless on sites has people believing they can post, say or do anything they please because no one will stop them!
What I mean is people judge things constantly, with the use of the internet they can be as much of an asshole as they please with no repercussions, problem is, of course there's repercussions! Amanda Todd being a prime example of this. Several months ago a teenage girl was getting bullied over the internet and she committed suicide, what was she? 16? The whole anonymity aspect of the internet gives these people a false feeling of invulnerability and protection, its the next phase in bullying and it's got to stop.
Now something as serious as anonymous cyber bullying aside, people use sites like facebook to bitch about anything, let alone give us every single detail of their daily lives like we actually care! For instance, I don't care if you just took an 8 pound shit! I don't care to see you post a new profile picture every day of the exact same pose! These sites can be used for something useful like supporting a legitimate cause or promoting new things to entertain and educate our society, I don't need to know what you ate 5 minutes ago.
Another thing that annoys me is when people post pictures of themselves doing drugs on Facebook. Facebook is a widely used site across the world now, you think you can just post that picture and your employer isn't going to see it? Let alone calling in sick and the employer looks at your new Facebook pictures of you getting plastered the night before "You got the flu eh? Well it looks like you were perfectly fine and having fun 12 hours ago! Your fired!" Not too far off from the truth for some people.
Maybe I'm currently being a hypocrite for posting on this blog because its me bitching on the internet, but the fact is we've all done it to a degree, I wont lie about that, at least there is a point I'm trying to get across instead of "Fuck this, fuck that and fuck you too!" I do believe its time to use the internet like it was made for in the first place, sharing knowledge and experiences without cyber bullying and bitching like originally intended. Our society is going down hill so our generation needs to step up and get more educated quickly because we will be running things in no time, its all going to crash and burn if we continue thinking stuff is just going to get handed to us.
Whats your input on this whole thing? Leave a comment here on Blogger or on my Facebook either agreeing with what I say or just bitching at me because you think I'm talking about you! If so, you post every 5 minutes don't you?

Technologies Effects On Society.
I see how much technology has really become apart of our lives. When I was assigned to projects that involved interaction with some form of Technology; Computers, Cameras and Televisions, you really begin to see how Media and Technology has some form of impact on our everyday lives.
Making projects that involve creating an entire news episode, making talk shows or even creating your own bits of news stories, editing them yourself, marketing, advertising, almost all the essential things I need to know to make my own production company. I am even advised to go home and watch tv!
I see how television and movies have effected our every day lives. Not only tv and film, but also the music, use of computers and the Internet have increased peoples access to these forms of media. The Internet also gives access to different kinds of computers with different companies and different manufactors; Cell Phones, Music/Video Devices, even Gaming Systems!
Gaming has devoloped way beyond anything I could have imagined as a child. The amount of work that goes into not only the game it self with graphics and story lines, but being able to play with people on multiplayer all over the world using the internet, being able to stay connected in a different way then just talking, but to have something fun to talk about with a fun gaming experience creating fun memories.
The reason I bring this up is because as much as we all love media and technology, how is it helping us get Healthy? All we do is sit on our asses and watch or listen to these things, unless you watch tv or play music while excersing, that works. One that can have great potential for fun and exercising is motion gaming, atleast they are a new way to push yourself to excercise that much further. Especially since the oldest age at which people are playing video games is rising because people who have been playing games since Pong are still playing.
Also sometimes their is no social interaction when it comes to certain technology, people can just watch or listening to things, just being entertained while their alone, and sometimes it doesn't let people interact when they are observing together in silence. Social Sites have been invented to keep everyone connected no matter how far you are. Although people still like to be entertained by some form of media when interacting with someone, same as I said before, gaming is a great way to stay connected as well as have fun.
This is 2012, society is using technology more then ever, how will we use technology for the better? We need to look into not only media, but Science and Technology as well, make the world a better place for all, help create a more healthy planet, keeping people healthy and happy, but connected and entertained as well.
Media has always been there to inspire people and drive them into whatever path they may have taken in life, the thing is, what is inspiring you? Is it movies about gangsters being rich driving you to a path of crime and hate, a happy wealthy family driving you towards money? Money is definatley a good thing to strive for and does seem to be a premise in alot of todays media but what do they it for? Do they just buy something for themselves? Be selfless and pay towards medical research? Someones education so they can go on to help people their own way?
Thats the thing I think media should strive to give its audience, a good message. Now Im not talking about getting rid of media because its dumb, although I dont see how some stuff is out there to begin with, but something that doesn't give people the wrong impression and people start acting like idiots. (See the film Idiocracy to understand that point) We dont always need stupidity to be entertained, I like learning something while being entertained, I as well as many would remember it better.
I guess I could say there is ups and downs about media and technology in total, but we need to start thinking to the future, find ways to improve humanity with technology; We could find new ways to improve humanity for the better.
What do you think or feel that can be done to improve society through technology?
